i like candy, I like chocolate
that’s what I desire
bubble gum and hot fudge sundaes
are all that I require

oh, lollipops and licorice
make me scream with joy
ice cream, pies and pudding
for every girl and boy

oh, eat your broccoli, eat your peas
those carrots make you strong
this is what our parents say
but I think they have it wrong

peppermints and pixie stix
i just can’t get enough
if I chose my every meal
my choice would not be tough

gummy bears and taffy
a donut and some cake
i could eat treats for breakfast
lunch and sometimes late

the other day I had a toothache
it almost made me weep
the dentist said it’s from sugar
cut down—and brush your teeth!

i think I learned a lesson here
