about
New single out by Jenn Cleary of the classic rock tune, "The Rose".
“The Rose” was written by Amanda McBroom and famously covered by Bette Midler for the soundtrack of the 1979 film The Rose, in which it plays under the closing credits. Loosely based on the life of Janis Joplin, the film follows a self-destructive rock star in the late 1960s, who struggles to cope with the pressures of her career and the demands of her ruthless business manager.
Jenn brings a fresh take and performs “The Rose” strumming her warm, cedar-topped Breedlove acoustic guitar. She is joined by some of Colorado’s most talented musicians: Christian Teele on drums, Chris Engleman on bass, Eric Moon on keys, and John McVey on electric guitar and background vocals. Produced and mixed by John McVey of Cinder Sound Studios and mastered by Anna Frick of Ally Sound.

And the soul, afraid of dying
That never learns to live
INSTRUMENTAL

And the road has been too long
And you think that love is only
For the lucky and the strong
Just remember in the winter
Far beneath the bitter snows
Lies the seed that with the suns love
In the spring becomes the r
